Square Ring by Marmalade DesignsWhen I hear the word marmalade, I imagine myself supping a cup of freshly brewed java in a sunny breakfast nook whilst smothering a crisply toasted English Muffin with brilliant tangerine preserves.

The reality?  I'm lucky to wolf down some fruit or a container of yogurt before tackling my daily to-do's, and I usually have my coffee midday when I need the extra boost to push through 'till quittin' time.

There are many good things about the accessories from Canada's Marmalade Designs aside from the sensory-stimulating name. The organic fabrication of each piece; The refreshing use of texture and color; the sleek silver settings used as a backdrop upon which designer Kate Smith's impeccably selected silk brocade and kimono fabrics are presented.

I am absolutely stuck on this Square Ring.  So springy, so lovely, and perfect for the gal who loves chunky, funky rings (namely…me!).

But I think the most impressive thing about Kate is that her worldly travels have deeply infused & inspired her art, allowing her sense of wondrous exploration to set every piece ablaze with an iridescence that is captivating.
